The Salisbury Four takes its name from the village of Salisbury, Connecticut, where the group's annual December concert serves as the official inauguration of the village holiday season. The group's repertoire incorporates traditional Appalachian and Sephardic song as well as medieval, renaissance, and baroque carols, madrigals, motets, fantasias, and dances. The players are Christopher Morrongiello, lute; Judith Dansker, oboe and recorders; Marcia Young, soprano and renaissance harp; and Zahra Brown, soprano and dancer.
